Whilst
at Highbury for the end-of-season Supporter's Club Football tournament
in May 2005 .......... (See Arsenal
Gloster FC @ Highbury 05 )
a few of the players collected some 'divots' whilst leaving the
pitch!!! By divots we mean small pieces of the pitch turfed up
during 'normal' play. We promise that none of our players took
trowels, although most of them have become keen gardeners since
the event. Our chairman, in order to set an example, is seen below
tending his Highbury turf on a fine day in August. Impressed???
Jealous more like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although if you think this
is good you should see our Vice Chairman Tim's, who is a professional
gardener. He will soon be re-turfing his entire lawn!!!! No doubt
he will send in the pictures!
Jayl
is particularly pleased with his own humble efforts because his
grass was pronounced dead earlier in the summer by none other
than Tim himself!! He accused Jayl of over-watering and a fall-out
nearly ensued! Luckily for the club, on this occasion Tim was
wrong and Jayl now has both his cats - Mint Gunner & Ocelot
Gunner guarding the turf.
